Yichieh Shiuey, MD – President and CEO
Yichieh Shiuey, MD is the Founder, President and CEO of KeraMed Inc. an ophthalmology medical device company which develops new devices and implants for corneal surgery. Dr. Shiuey graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in biochemistry from Columbia University, where he performed basic science research in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Martin Chalfie. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where as a medical student his research in the laboratory of Professor Jorge Alvarado helped lead to the development of Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, a common treatment for glaucoma today. He then completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, where he also served as a faculty member and the Associate Chief of Ophthalmology. Dr. Shiuey received the prestigious Heed Fellowship to pursue advanced training in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Utah, Moran Eye Center. Dr. Shiuey is a practicing cornea and refractive surgeon and served as the Chairman of Ophthalmology at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation from 2001 to 2007.
Yimin Shiuey – C.O.O.
Yimin Shiuey, COO of KeraMed Inc. graduated with a MS degree in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. He has worked as a civilian engineer for the US Army in the fields of electronics and weapons analyses. Mr. Shiuey had started 3 companies in the diverse fields of printing, distribution, and Internet services before joining KeraMed as Chief Operating Officer.
Brad Mack – Controller
Brad has a BS in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has most recently held the positon of CFO in the printing industry. He has over 30 years’ experience in accounting and finance in various industries.
Lee Goldberg – Merchant & Gould
Mr. Goldberg is currently a partner in the New York office of Merchant & Gould, a national intellectual property law firm. He has over 24 years of experience litigating intellectual property matters before juries and judges in various federal and state courts throughout the United States and at the International Trade Commission. Mr. Goldberg has tried utility/design patent, trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, false advertising and copyright cases.
He has also argued before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
As lead trial counsel, Mr. Goldberg’s recent successes have included a $10 million jury verdict in Marshall, Texas, and a Louisiana state court jury that returned a verdict in favor of Mr. Goldberg’s client. The judge then awarded Mr. Goldberg’s client its attorney’s fees and costs, and entered a worldwide injunction. Mr. Goldberg has also served as lead trial counsel for a Fortune 50 company in patent, trade dress, and unfair competition litigations in the Central District of California and the Southern District of New York. These cases also settled very favorably to Mr. Goldberg’s client.
Throughout his career, Mr. Goldberg has acted as a consultant for various companies in all areas of intellectual property. These matters have included a wide variety of products and technologies including medical and mechanical devices, pharmaceuticals, computer software, and electronic devices.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Goldberg received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering.
